The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie 2 Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render expert services into the community.
SASSA is going to be rendering solutions such as new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer care enquiries, along with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a press release, the agency mentioned it is actually alarmed with regard to the large number of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The purpose in the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is SRD to reach-out to the large range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is often mainly because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no absolutely functional office committed to service the area each day. The assistance stage designed for intervention ordeals a high influx of probable beneficiaries, that makes it tough to the Workplace to attend to all people who stop by a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise more assets to empower the servicing of all prospects and increase entry to Social Assistance companies,” the agency said.
